I need your help. My best friend is sick. About a week ago, Hercules (aka Herk) became violently sick. I first took him to the vet’s office on Thursday. They gave him a shot for vomiting and started processing some blood work. A few days later while I was playing a gig in Portland, I received a call that he started coughing up blood and that he was very sick. He spent the weekend in the local emergency animal hospital. They were not sure if he had cancer, had been poisoned or what. His major organs were all failing and they had no idea what was happening to him. Considering how sick he was, the cost of 24 hour care and the uncertain possibility of him surviving, the attending vets suggested that I should seriously consider putting him down. That was not an option for me at that time.
A day later, I transferred him to a specialty clinic where he has been treated around the clock by the best of vets. He continued to have problems and continued his down turn. Finally, they stabilized him. He is unconscious and on life support systems, but there is a slight glimmer hope. I will move him again tomorrow to the emergency hospital were will wait a few days to see if he will improve. It is a long shot, but it is a shot and that’s all I can ask for at this stage.
I am emotionally and financially broken. I need help from God, a divine power or what ever life energy you can contact. I do believe that prayers and positive energy can make a make a difference. So whatever spiritual power you can muster up, please send it to my friend, Herk.

4-29-08 - Thanks to everyone who has either emailed or talked me about Herk. I appreciate your concern and the good karmic energy you have sent to both of us. Herk’s condition has stabilized to some degree and, due to my finances, I have brought him home and am caring for him here with input and advice from the vet. He is slowly showing improvement, but his prognosis is still guarded.
